The car has previously been subject to an earlier restoration (1990s). It now requires some re-commissioning. It has come from a deceased estate and unfortunately we are unable to provide any history. It appears to have been imported in 1991. The last MoT in 2014 shows 15,021' which implies that it has covered only 118' miles since then. The current owner (deceased) purchased it in 2015. It appears to have spent the last few years in storage. The tops of the two carburetor float chambers have been removed, presumably for cleaning, and not replaced, and the dynamo is also missing. Obviously the car does not run, however the engine turns freely. Whilst the chromework shows sign of age and deterioration, the paint work is in generally good order, as is the interior.
The Jaguar XK Club indicate that the car was on the road between 1993 and 2002. It was converted from Left hand drive. In 2014 the XK representative for Devon & Cornwall refers to the car having been in a barn for 12 years following restoration. The owner had died and the son wanted to re-commission it.
Viewing of this beautiful XK140 is strongly recommended. There is a vehicle ramp available for serious buyers to inspect the underside.
